# Ad Source Analytics
## Understanding the Ad Sources reports
The **Ad Sources** section under **Analytics** shows how each of your ad sources performs. An **ad source** is a demand partner or ad tag that delivers ads to your player, for example an ad server, an ad network or a header bidding partner. Use these reports to see which sources fill your ad requests and where they perform best.
Each report shows a total chart first, followed by the same data split by device type: **Mobile, Desktop, Smart TV, Tablet** and **Unknown**. If a device panel is empty, there was no data for that device type in the selected period.
### Overview
**Fill rate by ad slot** shows the fill rate in percent for each ad slot:
- **Preroll** – ads shown before the video.
- **Midroll** – ads shown during the video.
- **Postroll** – ads shown after the video.
- **Overlay** – non-video ads displayed over the player.
- **Banner** – display ads shown with the player.
**Fill rate** is the share of ad requests that resulted in an ad being shown.
The device charts compare **Requests** and **Impressions** for each device type. The exact numbers appear below each chart, for example *19 ad requests, 19 ad impressions*. When the two parts of the chart are equal, every request was filled.
A low fill rate for one ad source usually means that source has limited demand for your traffic. Compare it with your other sources, or check the **Errors** report in the **Ads** section.
### Operating system
Shows which operating systems your ad source traffic came from (for example Windows, Android, iOS, macOS, Linux), in total and per device type.
### Browser
Shows which browsers your ad source traffic came from (for example Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).
### Geography
Shows the countries your ad source traffic came from. Use it to see in which markets an ad source delivers the most ads.
### Ad Sources vs. Ad Schedules
- **Ad Schedules** shows performance by *when* ads appear in your video (preroll, midroll and so on).
- **Ad Sources** shows performance by *who* delivers the ads (your demand partners and ad tags).
