Build Your OTT Application

TargetVideo's OTT Builder lets you customize and manage your OTT application, including branding, styling, content, and pages.

With TargetVideo's OTT Builder, you can create and customize your OTT application according to your preferences. If you would like to enable this feature, please reach out to your Account Manager.

Steps:

  1. Log in to the CMS and select your site.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click on the OTT BUILDER option.

Application Settings

The Application Settings section allows you to configure basic settings for your OTT application. These configurations include company branding and application preferences.

   

Options:

  • Company name: Set the name of your company or application.
  • Logo redirect URL: Set a URL to redirect users when they click on the company logo.
  • Privacy policy link: Set a URL that links to your company’s privacy policy.
  • App root path when hosting: Define the root path of your application if you're hosting it under a subdirectory (e.g. /ott-path if your app is hosted at  www.your-domain.com/ott-path).
  • CMP Script: Paste a CMP script here to manage user consent for cookies and tracking. This is important for GDPR or other privacy regulation compliance.
  • Upload Logo: Upload an image of your company/brand logo.
  • Upload favicon: Upload an image of your company/brand logo.
  • Use search?: Enable or disable the search functionality within your OTT application.
  • Default player: Select desired player from the drop-down list.

iOS & tvOS

The iOS and tvOS sections allow you to upload icons for your OTT application.

Options:

  • App store image: Upload an image of your app icon.
  • WIDTHxHEIGHT image: Upload an image of your app icon in required format.

Styling

The Styling section provides options to customize the visual appearance of your OTT application. Here, you can define colors for key UI elements such as backgrounds, buttons, text, and video details.

Options:

  • Primary background: Set the primary page background color for the application.
  • Secondary background: Set the secondary page background color, useful for highlighting certain sections.
  • Primary button background: Set the background color for primary buttons.
  • Primary button text: Set the text color for the primary buttons.
  • Video title text: Set the text color for video titles.
  • Video description text: Set the text color for video descriptions.
  • Date text: Set the text color for video publish dates.
  • Duration background: Set the background color for video durations.

App Content

The App Content section allows you to manage pages and configure their content. Here, you can add or remove pages, reorder them and their content, and customize how content will be displayed for each page individually.

Manage Pages

   

Click on ADD NEW PAGE or ADD YOUR FIRST PAGE. Page edit form will appear.

   

Here, you can switch between pages by clicking on the corresponding tabs and remove pages by clicking the bin icon next to the page name.

   

Options:

  • Page label: Set page label name.
  • Page description: Set a description for the page metadata.
  • Path: Set custom URL path (e.g. www.your-domain.com/custom-path).
  • Use featured playlist?: Enable or disable featured playlist that will be displayed as a slideshow at the beginning of your page. Select desired player and video from the drop-down lists.
   

Add New Content

The Add New Content section allows you to select the content type (Playlist or Video) and layout (Carousel, Slider, Top videos or Grid) for each content element.

   

Playlist options:

  • Choose player: Select desired player from the drop-down list.
  • Choose playlist: Select desired playlist from the drop-down list.
  • Choose layout: Select desired layout from the drop-down list.

  • Show video description: Enable or disable if video description will be displayed.
  • Show video publish date: Enable or disable if video publish date will be displayed.

Video options:

  • Choose player: Select desired player from the drop-down list.
  • Choose video: Select desired video from the drop-down list.
  • Choose layout: Select desired layout from the drop-down list.
  • Promo video
   


Configure your content element and click on the ADD CONTENT button. The element will then appear in the Content Order section.

Content Order

The Content Order section allows you to edit, reorder and remove content elements.

   

Options:

  • Quick edit icon: Open a quick edit window.
  • Drag & Drop icon: Use drag and drop to reorder content elements, or grab the entire element to move it.
  • Remove icon: Remove a specific content element from the list.

Buttons:

  • Save: Save all changes made in the current configuration.
  • Preview: Open a preview of your OTT application to see how it will look and function before publishing or building it.
  • Download build: Download the latest generated build of your OTT application. This package can be used for deployment or distribution.
  • Create new build: Save all changes, initiate a new build of your OTT application and publish it.
