What is AMP?

Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) is a new specification for publishers to serve consumers fast loading pages on the mobile web by controlling the way page elements load. AMP accelerates page load by only executing portions of the page when they come into view or are clicked by the user.

TargetVideo AMP Component

To ensure TargetVideo Players load quickly under the new Google AMP spec, we've created a TargetVideo Player component for AMP HTML.

TargetVideo’s AMP component is a different player embed code that we’re offering for use in AMP HTML pages, should customers wish to support the initiative. We made the AMP HTML component available to ensure that the player is compatible with the AMP specification and that any page where it is featured will be understood by Google as being AMP-compliant.

AMP HTML includes an amp-target-video-player component which allows publishers to embed TargetVideo Players within AMP HTML documents.

Setup

First, add this script tag to the head of the AMP HTML document.

Basic Usage

Then add the amp-target-video-player element to the page.
 
A responsive TargetVideo video will render in your AMP HTML page.

How to integrate with WordPress?

As WordPress currently does not have support for AMP pages out of the box, AMP page implementation is done via a plugin. The TargetVideo WordPress plugin is made to work with the following plugins:

TargetVideo player shortcode will automatically detect if the AMP plugin is present and enabled and behave appropriately when an AMP post gets called, TargetVideo's player shortcode implementation will automatically render the appropriate TargetVideo AMP component inside the AMP post.

To implement TargetVideo AMP players for WordPress just upgrade to the latest TargetVideo WordPress Plugin and you are good to go!
