Captions and Subtitles

TargetVideo currently supports the WebVTT standard and SubRip file format.

You can add a caption VTT file on any EDIT VIDEO screen. Navigate to CLOSED CAPTIONS in the Video Details section. Click on the UPLOAD CC button and add a valid VTT or SRT file.

Don't forget to press SAVE once you add a VTT/SRT file to a video.

Note that you can add multiple closed captions files to a video. Select a language from the drop-down menu and click on the ADD NEW CAPTION button.

A new tab with the added language will appear and you are required to upload a VTT/SRT file for each language.

Utilizing speech recognition technology, you can generate subtitles directly from the audio by selecting the CREATE AUTO CC button.

How to turn automatic captioning on?

Select a specific video from the library and find CLOSED CAPTIONS in the Video Details section. Click on the CREATE AUTO CC button.

Caption styling 

TargetVideo currently has support for <i>, <u> and <b> inline cue text tags.

You can also enter custom class names into your VTT file just make sure you define them on your site.

Enable captions on the player

To enable captions or subtitles while watching a video, simply click the CC button in the player's bottom toolbar. In the menu that appears, you can toggle captions on or off. If the Autoplay closed captions option is enabled in the player template, captions will automatically appear when the video starts.
