Content Units
Formerly known as widgets, the TargetVideo content units are supplementary tools to enhance user experience and enable publishers to find just a perfect layout for their website’s design and audience. All four content units can be created with smart or custom made playlists and then tailored to improve viewer engagement.
In order to create a content unit, please log into your CMS and follow these steps:
- Select your site from the MANAGE VIDEOS option from the header menu.
- Navigate to the CONTENT UNITS section.
- Create new unit instance by clicking on the ADD NEW button and selecting the unit type. New unit settings page will be displayed.
4. You can choose to either create a new optimized player for the unit and set an ad schedule of your preference, or select an existing player configuration and monetization.
5. Next, select the playlist to assign to the content unit.
6. Now, you can configure the selected content unit. Adjust the settings based on the unit you’ve chosen. Detailed instructions for each unit are provided below.
7. Once the unit is saved, grab the embed code and paste it to your page.

A recognizable, classic design with thumbnail preview of the playlist at the bottom of the unit.
The settings provide flexibility in personalizing the thumbnail preview, enabling you to decide if you want to display the video duration, video title, or play button.
Another feature is adding a logo to your thumbnail recommendations. All you need to do is paste the logo URL, set the width and height and choose the position.
Mid-Article Unit Options
A mid-article content unit resembles the playlist unit. You have the option to position thumbnails on either the right or left side. Besides the ability to display or hide the video duration, title, and play button, there is an option to ensure thumbnails appear on mobile devices.
You can also incorporate your logo into the thumbnail and adjust its size and position.
The description box, which can be placed to the left or right of the thumbnails, is optional and can be customized to show video titles and descriptions (sourced from video data).
An additional useful feature is the click-through Powered by logo, ideal for promotional use.
