If you set a valid CPM value when you add/edit any ad tag that you set in the platform, if you have PrebidJS or SpotX bidding setup for any player, our system will automatically try to do competitive bidding with any tag set against these bidding partners.
Example:
PrebidJS returns a valid bid @ $5 CPM. You have an ad tag set on the player level with a CPM of $6 CPM. Our player when doing a call to any ad slot in question will first try to play back an ad from the $6 CPM tag. If the tag returns a valid ad it will be displayed. If not, the player will fallback to the previous bid that was done by PrebidJS and will playback the guaranteed ad @ $5 CPM.
If an ad tag has a CPM set @ $0 CPM, essentially no competitive bidding will be done and your player bidding setup will always take precedent against any ad tag that will be used as fallback.
Note:
- Tag competitive bidding works only for PrebidJS and SpotX bidding setups.
- Amazon bidding does not work with this feature as CPM's for Amazon bids are not known as they hash them.
- If you have an Amazon bidding setup on the player level, tag competitive bidding is disabled automatically.
