How to set up Dynamic Ad Insertion?

Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) is a server-side video ad technology that allows you to serve video ads into live linear programming and video on demand content.

DAI stitches your video content and ads into a single stream, independent of a web page or app, and removes the ad request and ad response process from the SDK. This reduces the likelihood of client-side  errors and produces a seamless TV-like experience without latency or buffering between content and ads.

With DAI, you can target individual ads for live linear and video on demand programming, obtain multi-screen reach with broad device support, and take advantage of programmatic monetization across all devices with Ad Exchange for Video. 

Regardless of the original format of your content, once it becomes digital, DAI can stitch custom targeted video ads into the stream, based on the individual user viewing the content.

Prior to enabling Dynamic Ad Insertion in CMS, you are required to ingest your video content from Brid to GAM. Please refer to the instructions on ingesting video content into Ad Manager here. Please contact your account manager to obtain the necessary MRSS feed for content ingestion purposes. After that, all you need to do is add your Content source ID under the site settings. Log into CMS, select a specific site and click on the cogwheel to go to your site settings.

Find the DAI section:

You can enable DAI for every video right here. Or, if you wish to dynamically insert ads to specific videos only, all you need to do is override site settings the following way.

Go to the video edit page and scroll to the monetization section. Make sure to enable both Override account level DAI setting and DAI Enabled.

After this, just embed your video with any Brid player and you are good to go!

Note: Make sure that you have done everything that needs to be done on the ad server side (GAM) to facilitate proper DAI functionality. Make sure that you have DAI enabled for your account, that you have properly ingested video content from Brid to GAM and that you have properly targeted your campaigns for DAI usage.

Take note that VPAID ad creatives will not work with DAI.
