Unmute & Rewind

The Unmute & Rewind feature offers a playback experience focused on re-engaging users after an autoplay preview. This feature presents an unmute button that, when clicked, rewinds the content and starts playback from the beginning with sound, triggering a new ad request.

This design encourages interaction at a key moment in the viewing journey, helping maximize ad performance while maintaining a seamless user experience.

How it works:

  • When loaded, the player autoplays and immediately requests and plays ads.

  • After ads finish, muted content plays as a preview, and an unmute button appears on the player.

  • Clicking the unmute button rewinds the video and restarts it from the beginning with sound (regardless of the player’s initial volume setting) and sends a new ad request.

  • After this, the player resumes normal playback behavior.

Note: Autoplay must be enabled in the player template for this feature to function.
